Chair Candidates
Peter Doran
Republicans —
It is with profound respect for our shared principles and the hard work of our Stafford GOP Committee that I announce my candidacy for Chairman and offer a clear vision for victory based on common Republican sense.
It’s time to roll up our sleeves and rally around one idea: winning elections.
My vision builds on the strong foundation of our Stafford GOP.
Let’s embrace our Virginia Republican Creed: our belief in free enterprise, personal responsibility, Constitutional restraints, peace through strength, and our God-given rights.
These are the bedrock principles that we defend in Stafford.
But this is a time for choosing.
We must address our losses, some razor-thin, without getting bogged down in internal fighting.
The 2024 Stafford election map shows where our strengths are greatest, and where our fight for every vote should be: the pivotal I-95 corridor.
This is home to our Stafford military families, commuters, small-business owners, and parents who want the best education for their children.
The I-95 corridor links us together in Stafford. It’s where we can win by mobilizing the additional Republican voters we need to secure victory.
Our Road to Victory
Let’s take a closer look at our I-95 corridor.
We will call it “Stafford 95: Our Road to Republican Victory.”
This is where we must prioritize our voter registration and Get Out the Vote (GOTV) efforts in the prime zip codes of our county: along I-95.
Our tough losses in the past can become wins when we focus on the new and overlooked voters in our county.
Fundraising
As the successful former CEO of CEPA, a multi-million-dollar international affairs non-profit in Washington, I have dedicated my career to raising money and fighting for freedom: from helping former Soviet Bloc countries rebuild their societies after the ravages of communism to fighting against one-party Democrat rule in Virginia.
Central to our future Stafford victories is a major fundraising effort that the Chairman should lead, drawing on local business owners in service industries, Second Amendment supporters, and commercial sectors to fuel our initiatives.
Our Stafford donor base will support us because they do not want to live in a one-party, Democrat-controlled county and Commonwealth. We have a rock-solid donor base that we have not used to our fullest potential.
These donations will provide the sustainable resources our Committee needs to deploy voter outreach, events, and GOTV efforts in support of our Republican candidates.
The Chairman’s job is to raise money for our Committee and rally Stafford’s Republicans to win elections.
My Core Principles: Unity, Freedom, Victory
Continuity: Let’s celebrate past achievements and assess our losses. Building on efforts like “Stafford 95: Our Road to Republican Victory,” we ensure seamless transitions in voter outreach, candidate support, and events. No one is sidelined; we must continue to invite all to contribute, blending experience with fresh energy in a winning attitude that welcomes all Republican votes.
Strengthening Unity: Division weakens us. Locking shields wins elections. Through listening sessions and meetings, we bridge gaps, reflecting Stafford’s diverse Republicans. Prioritizing consensus, based on our Republican Creed, we present a united front, inspiring confidence and attracting new members, especially in the I-95 corridor.
Fundraising: Chairman-led initiatives to partner with local businesses (service, 2A, sales) for events, sponsorships, and resources must generate donations to our Committee. The Chairman should make the calls and show results.
Precinct Power: We must recruit captains by June 2026, assist in door-knocking, registration, calls, and signs to turn “pink” precincts red, honoring our bylaws’ volunteer commitments.
Registration Offensive: We must target 4,000 new lean-Republican registrations by September 2026 (80% in the I-95 corridor), via tables at Wawas, breweries, gun shops/shows, churches, and new-mover welcomes.
Ground Game Dominance: Regular “Stafford 95 Boot Camps” are needed for new candidate skills and trainings. And every Committee member must knock doors, volunteer, or make calls as required by our bylaws.
Useful Communication and Exciting Events: Let’s have monthly, substantive updates, including videos, breakdowns, and rapid-response texts without spam. Monthly Committee events with speakers from Virginia, D.C., and our neighbors will be key. We must also relaunch High School/College Republicans, socials like “Guns & Cigars” or “Tacos & Truth,” and veteran/young-family groups to make being a winning Republican in Stafford engaging and fun. The Chairman should organize these in consultation with the Committee’s sub-committees and members.
Republicans, let’s commit to a shared vision that’s practical, inclusive of our diverse Stafford community, and respectful of the honorable service of past Chairmen.
Let’s honor our grit, from fighting for freedom to reclaiming wins, as we dust ourselves off and start winning elections again.
We can do this because we are Republicans!
About Me
I am a lifelong Republican and Christian, hailing from a law-enforcement family that instilled in me the virtues of patriotism, duty, and honor. For more than two decades, Virginia has been my home.
In 2021, I proudly ran for Governor, and I was honored to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Glenn Youngkin in our fight to topple Democrat control of Virginia.
Together, we proved that Republicans can win in our Commonwealth when we present a winning vision for parents’ rights, public safety, freedom, and prosperity
Because I fight for freedom, the Russian government has put me on their international sanctions list. It is a badge of honor that I wear with pride. I don’t back down to Vladimir Putin and I won’t back down to Democrats.
Drawing on my decades of experience, I will bring the same principled leadership to serving our Stafford County Republican Committee
Republicans, I welcome your thoughts and look forward to our discussions on new direction for our Committee.
Together, let’s win the road and ensure a bright, winning Republican future for our home in Stafford, Virginia!
With warm regards,
Peter Doran

We must win elections by nominating ethical candidates who understand the issues, truly believe in Republican Party principles, and support them every way possible.
We must transform the S.C.R.C. to increase voter registration by reaching out to all ethnic groups and convincing them why their future prosperity and social values reside within the Republican banner.
We must recruit an Executive Committee that is prepared to implelemnt the Committee;s vision, support our candidates, and represent the Republican brand throughout the community.
We must engage our existing donor base and identify potential new donors so that our candidates are adequately resourced to win.
We must ensure every voter participates and understands what we are seeing occur before our eyes, that “evil triumphs when good men (and women) do nothing”!
