June 2018 Chair Notes
“The Constitution is not an instrument for the government to restrain the people; it is an instrument for the people to restrain the government – lest it come to dominate our lives and interests.” Patrick Henry
JUNE 12th PRIMARY
The Primary is the day after our meeting. So, if you can help out on Election Day, please make sure to bring your calendar. In addition, I am asking the candidates to communicate with the SCRC as soon as possible regarding which precincts they have volunteers secured.

If anyone has interest, but needs further clarification about the roll, please contact me. We still need Magisterial Chairs in the following districts:
Rock Hill
Hartwood
Aquia
Garrisonville
Griffis-Widewater

We need volunteers to help out at our booth for ALL of these time periods. I am reaching out not only to the Committee, but also to the campaigns to help out. Many visitors have come by our booth in the past to check us out. We have signed up new members, signed up Election Day Volunteers, and passed out yard signs. People really appreciate our presence. So, it is important that we have representation at the booth as much as we can. You can sign up at the meeting or on our website now!
SUBMISSIONS FOR THE AGENDA
This is a reminder that no new business will be voted on by the membership unless it appears on the Agenda. I send out the Agenda the first Monday of every month. If any members wish to bring an issue before the SCRC, then, such requests must be submitted to me by Sunday night before I send out the call. If you wish for the SCRC to vote on a referendum, then it must be attached to the Agenda. If not, then, a brief statement regarding what you wish to bring before the SCRC for a vote is sufficient. If you have any questions, please let me know.
PROXIES FOR THE MEETING
If you want to attend the meeting, but have a conflict, you can send some to vote for you. The Proxy Form is available here. The CRITERIA for a proxy is that the person voting for you must be: (1) a non-member of the SCRC; (2) a Stafford registered voter; and (3) must have your signed Proxy Form with them. A copy of the Proxy Form is sufficient. It does not need to be an original.
FOOD TREATS AT MEETINGS
Big thanks to Bootsie and Laura Rudy who have signed up to bring the treats and drinks for the June meeting! So, please come and join us on June 11, 2018 starting at 7:00 PM to socialize with fellow and potential committee members. The gavel will drop at 7:30 PM.
Yours in Liberty, yours in Freedom,
Adela C. Bertoldi
